Dr. Saroja Warner, Senior Director of Culturally Responsive and Equitable Systems at WestEd, and Sharif El-Mekki, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Black Educator Development, will present at the 2024 National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification Annual Conference held June 23–25, 2024, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
This year’s conference will center on educator diversity and the roles, responsibilities, and opportunities for state directors of teacher education and licensure to support increasing educator diversity in their states.

Dr. Warner is committed to ensuring each child experiences teaching and learning in classrooms and schools that are led by educators who are racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse and are culturally responsive.
Sharif El-Mekki is Founder and CEO of the Center for Black Educator Development. Prior to establishing the Center, Sharif served as the United States Department of Education Principal Ambassador Fellow and Principal of Mastery Charter School.
