Early intervention systems must navigate the intricate challenge of balancing various priorities. These include addressing diverse family needs, fostering a skilled workforce, improving outcomes for children with disabilities, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. Successfully managing these areas is essential for promoting community inclusion and enhancing the lives of children with disabilities and their families.
Purpose
The Comprehensive Early Intervention Technical Assistance Network (CEITAN) assists lead agencies in enhancing the systems that provide early intervention, education, and developmental services to young children with disabilities and their families. CEITAN’s projects and services combine expertise in specific content areas, hands-on program implementation experience, effective project management, and a parent-professional partnership model. This approach aims to inform and improve the overall effectiveness of these systems.
Technical assistance and consultation activities may be provided to
- build and enhance professional development;
- design and disseminate resources that promote comprehensive, coordinated services;
- build capacity to implement evidence-based practices; and
- facilitate interagency collaboration.
