Diversity

Since our inception more than 50 years ago, WestEd has been committed to staff diversity. Different nationalities, ethnic groups, lifestyles, generations, linguistic groups, sociocultural backgrounds, and cultures work at all levels of our organization. In addition to valuing diversity, we value the distinctive skills and perspectives of our staff. Each staff member’s contribution is essential to our work.

When we post new positions, we make special recruiting efforts to post on nationally recognized platforms and forums, including several that specialize in diverse workers and serve a wide professional network.

Our variety of staff enables WestEd to understand and communicate effectively with our equally diverse clientele. We believe such diversity significantly helps advance our agency mission of promoting excellence, achieving equity, and improving learning for children, youth, and adults.
