WestEd Senior Research Associate Angela Estacion will present with educational experts at DREAM 2024, held February 19–22 in Orlando, Florida.

Achieving the Dream annual convening brings together thousands of practitioners from hundreds of colleges to exchange evidence-based approaches to accelerating student success in a manner that champions equity and drives economic vibrancy.

With leaders from Valencia College, Estacion will present data from a statewide research study of Florida colleges’ practices aligning Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming to labor market demand.

In this session, presenters will present data from a statewide research study of Florida colleges’ practices aligning CTE programming to labor market demand. The results will describe how colleges develop, offer, and update market-aligned CTE programs of study. Valencia College will provide a deep dive into the institution’s successful strategies and how it addressed challenges. This session examines issues of access and mobility and highlights the importance of data empowerment and community connectedness. The presenters are Angela Estacion, senior research associate at WestEd, and Nasser Hedayat, assistant vice president of career & workforce education at Valencia College.

Angela EstacionEstacion is a Senior Research Associate at WestEd. With nearly two decades of research and evaluation experience, she designs and directs research studies and evaluation projects in partnership with institutions of higher education, local and state education agencies, and local and national nonprofits.
