Join Desired Results in January and become a Desired Results Certified Trainer. The Desired Results Certified Trainer Institute (CTI) prepares trainers to provide Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) teacher training.
After fulfilling the prerequisites, participants must complete an eight-session virtual training program, which includes presentation skills training, co-training with institute faculty, and a final certification process. To fulfill prerequisites, trainers must observe and participate in DRDP, and Meaningful Observation training presented by a certified trainer or complete and submit certificates for DRDP modules 1-4 from California Early Childhood Online (CECO).

What You Will Learn
Participants (trainers) will learn how to provide Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) teacher training. Training includes:
- All certification costs
- A training sample kit for a teacher training
- The subscription fee for the conference center for one year. Certified trainers receive access to the DRDP online conference center and may provide unlimited training as part of their job duties within their agency—helping to build capacity within their agency to train teachers on the DRDP. Maintaining certification requires attendance at quarterly update webinars.
The DRDP© assessment instruments are designed for teachers to observe, document, and reflect on the learning, development, and progress of children, birth through 12 years of age, who are enrolled in early care and education programs and before-and after-school programs. The assessment results are intended to be used by the teacher to plan curriculum for individual children and groups of children and to guide continuous program improvement.
The Desired Results (DR) system, funded by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), is a comprehensive approach that facilitates the achievement of the desired results identified for children and families. California is one of the very few states in the nation that has developed its own system designed specifically for measuring child progress toward desired outcomes. The system is aligned to both the state’s learning and development foundations for early care and education programs and the content standards for kindergarten.
