In this session, participants will:

• Engage in a simulation designed to help educators understand how to build a community of practice among school faculty that can lead to sustained use of effective practices and improved learning
• Learn the critical components needed for developing and implementing effective professional learning
• Develop knowledge of how to connect professional learning opportunities to the specific needs of teachers and their students

Session: School Transformation through an Instructional Coaching System

In this session, participants will:

• Learn how a K–12 district developed a common language around instruction and implemented an instructional coaching system, building the instructional capacity of district, site, and teacher leaders
• Engage in collaborative conversation focused on the design and implementation of a coaching model which incorporates mentoring and support for leadership, coaches, and teachers
• Experience how to differentiate levels of coaching support and bring home critical components of a successful instructional coaching system
