This year’s A-Game convening promises to be a hub of connection, learning, and innovation. A-GAME is at the forefront of creating Responsive Goals—tools designed to capture all student learning, including those crucial aspects that state assessments and traditional measurements often miss.

Why Attend?

  • Connect: Network with fellow authorizers and educators who are equally passionate about advancing student success.
  • Learn: Engage with experts and peers on cutting-edge strategies and approaches that are shaping the future of education.
  • Innovate: Be part of a transformative conversation on how Responsive Goals can revolutionize the way we assess and support student learning.

This is more than just a session; it’s an opportunity to be part of something bigger—reimagining how we measure and enhance educational outcomes.

Wednesday, October 23

Session: Organizational Performance Frameworks: Quality and Compliance
Time: 9:30am – 10:30am CT
Presenters: David Greenberg (NACSA), Aimee Evan (WestEd), Jess Saven Barton (Washington State Charter School Commission), and Michele Gray (DC Public Charter Schools)

Grounding in NACSA’s 2023 Guide to Performance Frameworks and WestEd’s Indicators of Distress research, this session will explore how two authorizers—the District of Columbia Public Charter School Board and the Washington State Charter School Commission—are thinking about incorporating an organizational effectiveness lens in review and renewal decisions and making updates to their Organizational Performance Framework.

Session: Performance Frameworks and Special Education: Compliance AND Quality
Time: 3:00pm – 4:00pm CT
Presenters: Jamie Garwood (Ball State University), Aylin Bell (WestEd), and Aimee Evan (WestEd)

As key figures overseeing the quality of education, authorizers are crucial in ensuring schools provide exceptional services to all students. This session is an opportunity to assess our performance frameworks, ensuring that every student, especially those with disabilities, receives the highest quality of education. We will share a national scan of special education indicators within performance frameworks, assessing how authorizers use these frameworks to conduct oversight of services for students with disabilities and discuss innovative approaches that move beyond compliance.
