WestEd’s Katie Drummond, Jennifer Folsom, Ashley Boal, and Chris Barron will present at the Washington Educational Research Association (WERA) Spring Symposium. The Symposium will be held March 1-3 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center in Tacoma, Washington.
The theme of WERA’s first in-person event in over three years is Now What? Reimagining Research, Data, and Assessment Practices for Sustainable, Transformational Change.
Our breakout session, titled REL Northwest: Supporting Meaningful Change, will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2nd, in room 404.
REL Northwest works with educators and policymakers in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington to develop evidence that can inform consequential decisions about policy, programs, and practice.
In this session, presenters will:
- Provide an overview of REL Northwest’s mission and work
- Share examples of projects underway with districts in Washington to address educational equity
- Engage participants with help to identify pressing education issues in Washington that REL Northwest could potentially support
REL Northwest engages in change-oriented work by supporting meaningful local, regional, or state decisions about policies, programs, and practices designed to improve learner outcomes through technical support, coaching, research, and dissemination.
Be sure to attend our session and visit the WestEd exhibit table near the reception area to learn more about WestEd and REL Northwest.
