(Past Event) Safe and Supportive Learning Environments Essentials Virtual Professional Learning Series

Professional Development

The California Center for School Climate (CCSC) invites interested school, district, and education agency staff to apply for Cohort 2 of WestEd’s Safe and Supportive Learning Environments (SSLE) Essentials Virtual Professional Learning Series taking place over 10 sessions between August 2022 and January 2023.

Who Will Benefit

This opportunity is designed for California K–12 educators and education leaders committed to creating and sustaining safe and supportive learning environments where all students thrive.

What You Will Learn

The SSLE Essentials lead participants to integrate a broad cluster of research-based content and culturally responsive practices that inherently work together to foster safe and supportive learning environments.

Participants work closely with SSLE facilitators and fellow participants as they develop the mindsets, knowledge, and capacity needed to infuse these practices into the everyday instruction and experiences of their schools, districts, and agencies.

The series focuses on topics such as trauma-informed, restorative, and culturally responsive practices; social and emotional learning (SEL); school climate; and related whole-person topics, with attention to equity throughout.

Cost

CCSC, a project of the California Department of Education operated by WestEd, provides school climate and data use support and training at no cost to California LEAs.
