Saroja Warner, Director of Educator Development and Diversity at WestEd, and Nathan Jones, Associate Professor of Special Education and Education Policy at Boston University, serve as Conference Program Co-Chairs for the upcoming 2022 Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE) conference, September 21–24, 2022, at the Renaissance Arlington Capitol View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.
“From Reckoning to Racial Justice: Centering Underserved Communities in Research on Educational Effectiveness” is this year’s theme.
In their message about the conference on the SREE website, Warner and Jones said, “We see this year’s conference as a necessary and timely opportunity to continue the conversation that SREE began in earnest last year. To carry forward last year’s urgency and commit as an organization to building a research agenda that advances racial equity and centers underserved communities.”
WestEd researchers will lead sessions on several key topics. On Wednesday, WestEd’s Talent Development and Diversity and Special Education Policy and Practice teams will share lessons learned from their work that can be used to build bridges between education equity research and technical assistance practice.
