Our team works collaboratively with communities and local and state agencies to support equitable, engaging, and impactful teaching and learning while also working to inform policy and achieve large-scale impacts.
What We Do
We are committed to seeking solutions to educational inequities and solving systemic challenges by developing and testing innovative resources, conducting research and evaluation, and providing professional development and technical assistance to support high-quality teaching and learning. We work in partnership with researchers, district leaders, teachers, community members, developers, and funders to broaden access and participation in science and engineering.
Supporting Schools, States, and Districts With Equitable and Engaging Learning
We provide strategic and customized support for educators and leaders focused on impactful teaching, accessible and equitable learning, instructional material selection, standards implementation, and leadership development.
Promoting Innovative and Inclusive Research
We conduct classroom-based research that matters for learners and educators, design and study innovative resources that support engaging and equitable learning and teaching, and develop programs that utilize emerging technologies to enhance instructional practice.
Strengthening Educational Programs and Instructional Materials
Our program evaluations are rigorous, responsive, and actionable. We also provide alignment studies and quality reviews of K–12 science standards, lessons, units, and assessment tasks.
Our Approach
To achieve impactful results and support improved outcomes, we put learners front and center. Specifically, when addressing the needs of diverse learners and their families, we work with a wide range of partners to define issues, understand cultural contexts, and creatively develop solutions. When working to improve teaching and learning in science and engineering, we take a systems approach and draw on a deep knowledge base to enhance learning opportunities for each and every student.
