Overview

With more than 14 years of experience in state and local government fiscal accountability, Anthony Mukuna leads school finance and fiscal accountability projects at WestEd. In his current capacity, he leads WestEd’s Credit Enhancement project of the U.S. Department of Education Charter School Program (CSP) with the responsibility to oversee project management, manage multiple monitoring teams, and review all related resources and project deliverables. Additionally, Mukuna leads the fiscal support team of the National Center for Systemic Improvement (NCSI), oversees fiscal engagements with several state educational agencies, and supports cross-area projects within WestEd.

His contributions to state-level engagements at WestEd resulted in the development and implementation of strong fiscal accountability practices compliant with federal/state/local laws, regulations, and policies at the SEA and LEA levels.

Before joining WestEd, Mukuna worked for the Idaho Supreme Court finance office and the Idaho State Department of Education, where he created a very strong fiscal accountability structure.
