Overview
Kerwin Henderson has more than 10 years of experience consulting and providing Technical Assistance (TA) at the state and local levels to address critical issues and implement reforms across the criminal justice system. As a Senior Justice Technical Assistance Specialist with the Justice and Prevention Research Center (JPRC), Henderson helps community-based organizations and state and local leaders leverage data in their decision-making to promote equitable, evidence-based solutions.
Henderson currently manages projects focused on addressing community violence. His work includes providing TA to community-based organizations through the PA Peace Alliance and developing and implementing a framework that helps state and local leaders identify and address the underlying factors of gun violence.
Henderson has managed the implementation of evidence-based programs and practices in juvenile and adult justice systems and addressed issues in reentry, including race and gender disparities in treatment. Henderson has presented on juvenile justice and veterans issues at national and international conferences and has worked directly with state and local leaders to improve decision-making and reduce incarcerated populations.
