Courage Museum Q&A: Healing and Reflection for Educators

What are the intended outcomes for educators who participate in the Courage Museum’s professional learning institute?

Lauren Trout, Senior Program Associate, WestEd:

Some intended outcomes for educators participating in the professional learning institute I think will include having a space for healing and reflection and movement building inside of an increasingly polarized, and I would say, fragile education system. We are hoping that there’s capacity building around healing and reflective learning communities for their students. And I think maybe a little more tangibly, perhaps we want to build their capacity in how they’re helping students engage with museum content. Educators are first people, they’re first humans, and so we want to have a space where they feel a sense of safety and agency to develop their own formation and their own identity as change makers and activists.
