Camp Making Sense of Science (MSS) is a chance to deepen your science content knowledge, science teaching expertise, and facilitation skills — while collaborating with other science teachers and leaders in a beautiful setting. Camp MSS has a choose-your-own-adventure format, with multiple professional learning experiences to choose from each day.

The camp will take place October 4–7, 2018 at the Asilomar Resort and Retreat Center in Pacific Grove, California. Activities begin the afternoon of October 4 and will conclude on the afternoon of October 7 with an excursion to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

At Camp MSS, the majority of your time will be spent learning to facilitate a variety of MSS short courses. These half-day, 1-day, and 2-day courses are bite-sized professional learning experiences — just right for sites introducing MSS to their teachers and for experienced MSS sites looking to expand their offerings.

You will also have the opportunity to network with fellow campers, engage in fun and collaborative team building activities, and strategize around bringing MSS professional learning to your site.

The $1,800 fee includes programming, materials, lodging, and most meals. Limited scholarship opportunities are available.

If you have questions about the registration process, please contact Louise Du Cray-Medley at lducray@wested.org or (650) 381-6407. If you have questions about the professional learning and scholarships, contact Patrick Moyle at pmoyle@wested.org or (510) 302-4219.
