Pre-Conference Workshop: Using Logic Models to Structure Evaluations of Educational Products and Programs

Learn how logic models can be used by evaluation and product development teams to share common understanding of the key components of the program/product; make explicit the assumptions about how a program/product achieves its intended outcomes; and structure an iterative evaluation of the program/product.

Presentation: Evaluating the Use of Virtual Worlds to Empower Students in Science

Participants will learn how virtual world technology can be used to engage learners in STEM; the impact of connecting students to science experts as well as peers by using a virtual world; the strategies and project resources that contributed to learning outcomes; and the challenges associated with evaluating a program using virtual world technology.

Presentation: What is Speaking? Moving Collective Voices into Action: How Diverse Learners Can Shape Education Practice and Professional Attitudes

This presentation will focus on Benitez’s experiences facilitating student groups who speak of unfavorable academic experiences, equity challenges, and negative attitudes towards them, and creating a compelling story to support school professionals in moving toward a socially just and equitable education system.
