The Center to Improve Social and Emotional Learning and School Safety: Findings from the Field and Established Priorities

WestEd Webinars Graphic

The national Center to Improve Social and Emotional Learning and School Safety at WestEd (SEL Center) works with state and local education agencies to improve social and emotional learning and school safety.

Evidence-based programs and practices designed to foster social and emotional learning are associated with positive student outcomes, including increased academic achievement, higher graduation rates, and improved social behavior.

Join us to hear the results of an initial needs-sensing effort that will help to shape the design of the technical assistance and capacity building the SEL Center will offer.

Presenters will:

  • Share lessons learned from surveys, interviews, and conversations with state and local education agencies, federal comprehensive and content centers, and other thought leaders in social and emotional learning and school safety
  • Facilitate a discussion about the needs that have emerged, the priorities set, and the type of supports educators find most helpful for these topics
  • Announce upcoming webinars, products, and other supports that will be available to stakeholders

Presenters:

  • Natalie Walrond, Director, Center to Improve Social and Emotional Learning and School Safety
  • Christina Pate, Deputy Director, Center to Improve Social and Emotional Learning and School Safety
  • Judy Ennis, Deputy Director, Center to Improve Social and Emotional Learning and School Safety
