Overview
Johanna Barmore is an expert in teacher and student learning. For over a decade, she has supported schools and districts to create job-embedded learning systems for teachers to improve instruction and student learning.
Barmore leads WestEd’s VITAL Collaboration team. The VITAL team has partnered with dozen of districts across the United States to build data-driven Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) that propel school improvement.
Before joining WestEd, Barmore worked for the Data Wise Project and Mathematical Quality of Instruction projects at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She began her career as a mathematics teacher at an independent school in New York City and served as the mathematics curriculum coordinator at a charter school in Massachusetts.
